Southern Nomads are champions

by isleofman.com 13th February 2010

Southern Nomads picked up their second successive Shimmin Wilson Shield after an unusual sequence of events.

Nomads faced their own second team at King Williams College and picked up a 47-7 win.

Their nearest challengers Douglas B were trailing Ramsey B 3-0 at Port-e-Chee after 20 minutes when a series of injuries forced them to abandon the game.

Douglas conceded the match on the field of play and the remainder or the match was played out as a friendly.

Douglas are now unable to catch Nomads in their remaining fixtures which confirms the southerners as champions.
