DTL promises bus crash probe

The Department of Tourism and Leisure says it will hold its own probe into how one of its buses crashed into the side of a building yesterday.

The bus had just completed a school run when it hit a bollard on the corner of Prospect Hill and Athol Street before running into the side of the Isle of Man Bank.

Only the driver was aboard, and the emergency services – who are investigating – say he escaped injury.

Ian Longworth of Bus Vannin says an internal investigation is also already under way:
