Manannan Discovery Trail Opens

by isleofman.com 13th February 2010

Manx National Heritage has a new addition to its popular discovery trail series.  Launching just in time for the February half-term, 5-11 year olds will now have a trail to follow at the House of Manannan in Peel.

The trails give children the chance to find answers to questions, draw and learn while taking part and, now that every child in full time education on the Island has an ACE card, it means they can enjoy a free visit.

Anthea Young, Education Services Officer at Manx National Heritage said, "The discovery trails are a great way for children to explore the Manx National Heritage sites.  The trail at the House of Manannan has questions on the Vikings, Celts and involves plenty of maritime encounters.  They are a great way for children to engage and learn while having fun".

The next addition to the discovery trail series will feature the Grove in Ramsey.  It is due to be release in time for Easter and there are more trails planned for the long summer holidays.  All the Manx National Heritage sites open on the 2nd April 2010.

The House of Manannan is open seven days a week from 10.00am to 5.00pm.  For further information, visit www.storyofmann.com or telephone 01624 648000.
