Ballakermeen Celebrates 25th Anniversary

by isleofman.com 11th February 2010

Ballakermeen High School formally launched its 25th Anniversary yesterday with an official ceremony organised by Ballakermeen Silver Jubilee Committee.

Ballakermeen High School, which is the Island's largest secondary school, was created when a re-organization of Eastern Schools in 1985 led to the closure of Ballakermeen Junior High School.

Thousands of students have since been educated there, a number of whom have been instrumental in organising the anniversary celebrations, in planning since September 2008.

The year's programme of celebrations was unveiled at yesterday's launch, along with the 25th Anniversary logo (pictured), which was designed by Year 8 student Hannah McDaid.
