Manx showing at event described as 'pathetic'

by isleofman.com 11th February 2010

A former councillor on the Island has described the Isle of Man TT stand at a recent bike show as, "pathetic, to put it mildly"

John Christian was in London last weekend for the Motorcycle Show at the Excel Centre.

He says the event attracts tens of thousands of people over its four days and all of the major players in motorcycle world had a substantial presence.

However he had to struggle to find the TT stand - and when he did he was less than impressed: (play attached clip)

TT Press Officer Simon Crellin says it was unfortunate Mr Christian didn't come on the day when they had TT stars such as John McGuinness and Connor Cummins at the stand and put on a chat show and TT quiz on the main Motorcycle News stand.

He adds that their main marketing drive is at the Birmingham Bike Show which attracts seven or eight times as many people and the London show is a new initiative for them.
