An international company based on the Isle of Man has entered a unique sponsorship deal with a Douglas sports club.
ILS Fiduciaries, the Douglas-based global corporate and trust service provider, has cemented a mutually beneficial agreement with Cronkbourne Sports and Social Club.
In return for providing advertising opportunities at their Tromode sports ground, Cronkbourne will receive a helping hand from ILS Fiduciaries in improvements to the Clubhouse facilities. Specifically, ILS has provided the Club with some of the latest audio and video equipment, which is now available to all users of the Clubhouse.
Chris Eaton, CEO of the ILS Group, said, "We are delighted to have been able to assist a local club in making an improvement of this nature, something that will not only benefit them but also their members and visitors. We did not want to follow the traditional sponsorship route by simply handing over an essentially anonymous cheque.
"We wanted to do something that we could be identified by and after close discussions with Cronkbourne we were able to come up with this idea. ILS has always considered helping the local community important and we look forward to continuing and perhaps developing our relationship with the Club in the future".
As the home of sports teams Cronkbourne CC, Gymnasium AFC and Bacchanalians HC, playing cricket, football and hockey respectively, the clubhouse is frequently used by its members as well as by local companies and societies for corporate and private events.
Chairman of Cronkbourne CSC, James Stokoe said, "Being involved with local businesses and establishing areas of mutual interest are hugely important for Clubs such as ours. The cost of maintaining our premises increases continually and it is arrangements such as this that helps us to provide improved quality sporting and social facilities that are enjoyed by both our membership and the wider community.
"The importance of this as well as other types of support is hugely appreciated by our Management Committee and we hope that we in turn can continue to help develop the marketing opportunities that our commercial partners seek and find attractive".
The equipment in the clubhouse is currently being used to show various sports activities to members and visitors, as well as providing improved facilities that can be offered for corporate and private events held at the Clubhouse. The installation of an advertising loop will provide ILS and other sponsors a promotional showcase when the equipment is not in use.
