Better Broadband and More From Telecom

by isleofman.com 30th January 2010

Isle of Man internet users have been cheered by Manx Telecom's decision to provide free broadband connections and free upgrades to superfast ADSL2+, as well as increasing the value in each of its broadband packages.

The changes, which form part of Manx Telecom's 'New Year triple treat', mean that download speeds of up to 16 megabytes per second – twice the speed currently experienced by most broadband customers on the Island – are now freely available.

Existing customers can upgrade to the new superfast ADSL2+ broadband free of charge.  There is also free connection and savings of 50% on the first three months for new customers or those currently using another provider.

From 1st February, Manx Telecom’s popular entry level broadband service gets a 20% increase in monthly use, while the Company’s widely-used Unlimited package is reduced by ?2 a month.

Manx Telecom Product Manager, Graham Shimmin (pictured), said that the new packages coupled with free upgrades would provide an opportunity for customers to experience the benefits of superfast broadband.

"Our new broadband packages are quite simply bigger, better and faster," said Graham, adding that it would also provide customers using dial-up facilities with the perfect time to switch to new super fast broadband and enjoy the benefits.

Anyone looking to take advantage of the free upgrades from Manx Telecom should contact them on 624624 or text ‘brochure’ to 166670.
