Jade clinches cup for Corinthians

by isleofman.com 8th February 2010

Jade Burden grabbed the extra-time winner as Corinthians won the Sure Mobile women's Floodlit Cup Final on Sunday.

They twice came from behind to win 3-2 against holders Douglas Royal at the National Sports Centre.

In an exciting contest, Bekki Cole had put Royal in front before Burden equalised.

Donna Shimmin then restored Royal’s advantage only for Sarah O’Reilly to haul Corinthians level once more.

It was left to Burden to have the final say and earn Corinthians the first major trophy of the women’s season.
