Careful planning is needed to cater for the growing numbers of people in the Island who'll suffer from dementia in the coming years.
The Island's dementia consultant Dr Chris Jagus has a case-load of around 800 patients.
But he says as society 'ages' - the result of demographic changes - the numbers suffering Alzheimer's are likely to double in the next 20 years.
A report by the Alzheimer's Research Trust says the condition costs the UK economy ?23 billion a year - twice as much as cancer - yet receives only a fraction of the funding to find cures.
Dr Jagus says ensuring sufferers and their families get the help they need will be essential.
