Minister comfortable with reorganisation

DAFF Minister Phil Gawne believes little will change for the Isle of Man's farmers and fishermen if his department is done away with.

On Talking Heads today, he said they would still be dealing with the same people, even if there was a different name on the door.

If the proposed restructuring of the Manx government is given the go ahead in Tynwald later this month, farming and fishing will be included in a new Department of Community, Culture and Leisure.

The plans have drawn an angry response from the Manx National Farmers' Union, but Mr Gawne says it's probably the best place for them in the new framework:
