A clinical psychologist says she doesn't see how selling cigarettes in plain packaging would make any difference to the number of people who smoke.
United Kingdom Health Secretary Andy Burnham wants to halve the number of smokers in England by 2020, and measures he is considering include the removal of branding from tobacco packaging and a ban on cigarette vending machines.
Dr Fiona McPherson says she understands the authorities trying to tackle the problem from as many different angles as they can, but she doesn't see how changing packaging will help:
