Financial advice for the post-Christmas period

Help is on hand for people whose debts are piling up after overindulging in the shops at Christmas.

The Isle of Man Office of Fair Trading is offering a debt counselling service, and has already seen an influx of clients worried about the sums they owe.

The advice is: don't ignore the bills, decide what needs paying first and seek advice.

The OFT can also explain what's involved if legal action is threatened.

Advice Centre manager Andrea Tabb says for those in debt, the post-Christmas period can be very worrying:
