Chief Minister says changes 'will make a difference'

by isleofman.com 1st February 2010

The Chief Minister says major changes to the Manx government have been a long time coming and aren't a knee-jerk reaction to the crises of the last 18 months.

Tony Brown says proposals such as the new Department of Economic Development were recommended by the Independent Review of the Scope and Structure of Government in 2006.

Seven of the nine government departments will be restructured, with the proposals going before Tynwald in a couple of weeks and the possibility of the changes coming in by April.

Mr Brown believes it really will make a difference.
