Island police force 'colonial'

by isleofman.com 29th January 2010

The Celtic League has described the Isle of Man Constabulary as a colonial police force.

Director of Infomation for the pan-Celtic political group, Bernard Moffatt, says the constitutional relationship between the Isle of Man and the UK needs to be examined closely.

Mr Moffatt says aimd a rising tide of nationalist sentiment in the wake of the VAT crisis and termination of the Reciprocal Health Agreement - it's important to know the true allegiances of state institutions.

Mr Moffatt claims in previous times of uncertainty, some have looked to the UK for direction and not the Manx Government.
