The Big Wheel Blues Festival organisers have unveiled "an amazingly talented and truly international line-up" for 2010.
The popular festival takes place over the May Bank Holiday weekend (1st -2nd) at The Pavilion in Laxey Glen Gardens.
A festival spokesperson says, "Due to somewhat reduced financial support this year, the committee has opted to cut the number of visiting acts to five.
"Those five acts are supported by a top class local band and we are sure that the quality of the 12th Big Wheel Blues Festival is as good as it’s ever been."
On Saturday May 1st, the headliner will see an Anglo-American fusion in the form of Larry Garner with the Norman Beaker Band (pictured). Also on the bill - and from the UK - are The Aynsley Lister Band and local group Steamroller.
Taking to the stage on Sunday will be Steve Arvey, 24 Pesos and, topping the bill, the Ana Popovic Band.
In addition to these evening shows, there will be two free afternoon programmes of music from great local blues and roots artists, along with fun family activities and entertainments.
The organisation committee has expressed thanks to its long-standing sponsors Cains, as well as all the businesses and organisations who continue to support the festival in a variety of ways.
The Festival is also delighted to welcome new sponsors Peter Norris Music. The sponsorship cements the long-standing relationship between the festival and the music shop (on Finch Road, Douglas), which has supported the event for many years by helping to promote it and loaning key equipment.
"The Big Wheel Blues Festival Club committee looks forward to having you with us in Laxey in May! Please do remember that is a not-for-profit event which raises money for worthy and charitable causes - so we really do appreciate your attendance and support!"
