Ballakermeen nets special award

by isleofman.com 27th January 2010

Ballakermeen High School has been presented with an award to recognise its commitment to working with parents.

The school is the first in the Island to receive the Leading Parent Partnership Award, after an intensive two year project to encourage mums and dads to play greater role in their childrens' learning.

The school had to show that it kept parents fully informed about their children's work, as well as a determination to expand the range of opportunities for both students and parents.

The presentation was made this morning (Wednesday) by Education Minister Anne Craine

Ballakermeen headteacher Adrienne Burnett says some exciting new projects are up and running.
