New Chief Executive at Home Affairs

by isleofman.com 26th January 2010

The Department of Home Affairs has appointed a new Chief Executive.

Mark Kelly is Acting Chief Executive while Will Greenhow is seconded to the Chief Secretary’s Office.

Mr Kelly comes from the Department of Trade and Industry, where he was Deputy Chief Executive, and has a background in economics.  He has wide experience of the Isle of Man Civil Service, which he joined in 1983; Home Affairs is the fifth Government Department in which he has taken a role.

Home Affairs Minister Adrian Earnshaw MHK said, "I welcome Mark to Homefield.  There are weighty responsibilities with the post as we are currently seeking to introduce substantial new legislation and striving, like all departments, to maintain service delivery despite the financial constraints.  I anticipate his broad experience in Government will enable him to bring a fresh perspective to Home Affairs."

Mark Kelly commented, "I relish the opportunity to develop my career in this key Government department and take very seriously the responsibility of delivering community safety, which is the Department’s primary aim."

Mr Kelly will remain as Acting Chief Executive until the middle of 2010.
