Man killed in road accident is named

Police have named the pedestrian who died after being hit by a car in Kirk Michael last week.

He was 74 year-old George Edward Mills who is believed to have lived in the area.

He was critically injured in the accident on Friday and died later in hospital.

The road through the village was closed for several hours and police inquiries into the incident are continuing.

Officers are thanking the public for their help in the matter and ask anyone who may have further information to get in contact with Kevin Williams at the road policing unit on 631212.
