Green Building technologies are being highlighted at a seminar in Douglas today (Wednesday).
It's been organised by Island-based Wolff Environmental Consultancy, which is developing a system of so called 'passive' house building.
The event at the Hilton Hotel has attracted suppliers of eco-friendly building materials from the UK and is aimed at all involved in the industry, from architects to planners.
Managing director of Wolff, John Sheppard, believes it's the way forward as not only are the houses better for the environment, they also save the householder money.
It's hoped 'passive housing' could help to reduce the Island's carbon footprint and Mr Sheppard says the Island could be an ideal test bed for such technology.
