Off-road bikers are upsetting cemetery goers

Visitors to the new lawn cemetery in Douglas say the atmosphere there is being ruined by constant noise from motor bikes and mini-motos in nearby fields.

Off-road riders have been trespassing in fields off Johnny Watterson's Lane, despite signs making it clear access is forbidden.

New security measures are now on the way.

Residents in the nearby Reayrt y Sheear estate, and people living on Ballanard Road, have also complained about noise nuisance from the motors.

Byelaws enforcement officer for Douglas Borough Council Neil Cringle says those responsible are causing criminal damage and previous attempts to combat the problem have had limited success:
