Valkyrs A are Premier League champions

by isleofman.com 24th January 2010

Valkyrs A are men’s Premier League champions.

In a final day of the season showdown, they clinched the title with a 10-1 demolition of Castletown A while Vikings A, who had led the table on goal difference, were beaten 3-1 by outgoing champions Bacchas, who pipped them to second place as a result.

At the other end of the table, Harlequins have been relegated after they could only draw 2-2 with Bacchas B in a match they needed to win.

They will be replaced in the top flight by proud Saracens who saw off nearest rivals Ramsey 2-1.

In the women’s Premier Division, Vikings A completed a dominant season by thrashing Bacchas A 9-1.

It ensured the champions finished the campaign with a 100 per cent record.

Bacchas B fared better to clinch the Division One title with a 3-1 victory over Castletown B.
