Man dies after being hit by car in Kirk Michael

The 74-year-old man who was hit by a car in Kirk Michael has died in hospital, police have confirmed.

Police say he won't be named until his next of kin have been told.

Meanwhile, the coroner of inquests has been informed.

A full investigation into the incident is being conducted by the Roads Policing Unit.

It happened just after 6.30pm on Main Road, at its junction with Station Road.

Police say the collision involved a silver hatchback driven by a 48-year-old man from Ballaugh, and the man, who was on foot at the time. 

Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who was in the area of Station Road, Kirk Michael between the hours of 6.20pm and 6.40pm on Friday.
