Jail for man who found tools

by isleofman.com 21st January 2010

A 34-year-old man who stole power tools from a garden when he was drunk has been jailed for three months.

Robert Graham Dick, of Robert Stephen Close in Douglas, admitted handling stolen goods which he found.

In addition to the prison sentence Dick was excluded from the Island for five years, despite a plea by his advocate who said he had lived here since September with his Manx girlfriend.

High Bailiff Michael Moyle told Dick he was being excluded because of numerous previous convictions committed outside the Isle of Man, which would probably prevent him getting a work permit.
