A former secondary school teacher in the Isle of Man who pleaded guilty to internet child sex offences is being sentenced in London today.
Thirty-one-year-old James Barefield is appearing at Southwark Crown Court.
Last month Barefield, who was head of English at QEII in Peel at the time of the offences, admitted performing sex acts online via a webcam to someone he thought was a 14-year-old girl.
The 'girl' was in fact an officer from the Metropolitan Police, who was taking part in a covert operation.
Barefield was arrested at the end of October last year.
