First Island-wide ban imposed

A 36-year-old woman has become the first person in the Isle of Man to be banned from all pubs, clubs and off-licenses Island-wide by licensees.

The woman, who hasn't been named, has been told of the ban by letter after a meeting of the All-Island Pubwatch group voted to bar her.

Her photograph will now be circulated to licensees, and she will be refused entry for twelve months.

Chairman of the scheme Steve McDowell says the decision wasn't taken easily:
