Age Concern Seeks Box Volunteers

by isleofman.com 18th January 2010

Age Concern Isle of Man is looking for more volunteers to distribute its collection boxes.

Chief executive Penny Creighton (pictured) says, "The boxes we already have in circulation raise around £3000 a year and are an important source of revenue, given that we have to raise in the region of £800,000 every year to maintain our current services.

"Distributing the boxes takes no more than an hour or so every six months, so it’s ideal for anyone who would like to get involved with volunteering, but has only a limited amount of time.

"There’s also the social aspect so perhaps mothers with small children or retired people might like to consider offering their services."

Distributors are needed in Port Erin, Laxey, Peel, Castletown and Douglas.  Anyone interested in becoming a distributor is asked to contact Age Concern’s business development manager Gillian Harvey.  Call 613044 or email Gillian.Harvey(at)ageconcerniom.com.
