Government examines its wages bill

Chief Minister Tony Brown says government will look at a variety of options as it tries to reduce its staff costs.

In order to make around ?30 million in savings next year, Mr Brown says all departments are being asked to look closely at their costs.

And because wages and employment make up the vast majority of spending, that's one area which is being specifically targeted.

Mr Brown says it's a question of finding efficiencies, and trying to avoid job losses:
