Murder accused awaits trial date

by isleofman.com 16th January 2010

A 38 year-old man charged with murder will have to wait to find out when he’ll stand trial, after the death of his advocate.

Simon Paul Leece of Fairfield Terrace in Douglas denies the murder of Terence Losh last March and was due to have a trial date set on Friday.

But the court heard Mr Leece, who also denies seven counts of committing arson with intent to endanger life, had been represented by Manx advocate Paul O’Neill, who died late last year.

Mr Leece was remanded in custody until February 8, when it’s expected a trial date can be fixed.
