Residents shown around PSM landslide site

People who were forced to leave their homes in Port St Mary on Monday night following a landslide have been shown around the site, as the Department of Transport continues its repair work.

Fifty tons of earth slid from under Bay View Road, forcing the department and police to close the road and evacuate twelve properties.

Since then DoT workers have been on-site around the clock, stabilising and repairing the road.

Although he is pleased with progress so far, senior design engineer Gary Saunders says there's still lots of work to do:
