The Isle of Man Overseas Aid Committee has donated ?60,000 to the relief effort following the devastating earthquake in Haiti on Tuesday.

The money has been sent to the Disasters Emergency Committee, which is co-ordinating the overall fundraising appeal and humanitarian aid programme.

Tens of thousands are dead and millions affected by the quake, while communications have been severely disrupted and many roads are blocked with rubble.

The funding provided by the DEC will help ensure survivors get food, clean water, emergency shelter, medical care and other support.
