Karran backs politician's pay cut call

A backbench MHK has echoed calls for the Island's politicians to take a pay cut in line with reductions in government spending.

Liberal Vannin party leader Peter Karran will seek support in Tynwald next week, for a ten per cent salary drop for all members of the Manx parliament.

The move comes on the back of comments made by Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry Minister Phil Gawne, who said members should bear some of the brunt of the cuts.

Mr Karran says it's a matter of setting a good example:
