The Department of Transport says it’s making good progress to repair damage around the Port St Mary landslide.
Survey work on houses and Bay View Road has been completed and water supplies restored by the Water Authority.
Although work to stabilise the bank has begun, ground conditions remain very poor and there have been more small mud slides.
Stone is being used to prevent further slides and create a stable and safe platform to work from before DoT workers underpin the retaining wall.
Around 200 tonnes of stone from Poortown quarry has been used at the site – another 300 tonnes may yet be needed.
A DoT spokesman says it’s hoped underpinning the wall can be completed before heavy rain arrives at the weekend.
