Life goes on for family of Solway victim

by isleofman.com 14th January 2010

In the week which marks the 10th anniversary of the Solway Harvester tragedy, the widow of one of the seven crewmen who died sees the anniversary as a 'poignant turning point'.

Karen Jolly was the wife of Robin Mills, who signed up for the fateful trip at the last minute after regular crew members stayed at home because of flu.

Her daughter Sarah, who was two when her father died, is now almost 13, while her son Robbie, with whom she was pregnant when she lost her husband, is 10 in March.

Karen says it's difficult to believe a decade has gone by since the sinking, but family life has to continue (play audio file):

The loss of the Solway Harvester is the theme of this evening's Perspective, presented by John Moss, just after 6pm.
