DoT staff keep up the good work

by isleofman.com 13th January 2010

Gritters have been out on the Island's roads this evening (Wednesday), responding to calls from the emergency services and members of the public.

All the Island's main routes were pre-gritted from the early hours of this morning, after the Met Office predicted overnight snowfalls.

Up to two inches of snow fell by mid-morning, with the south-west and north of the Island bearing the brunt.

A team of 18 staff from the DoT's Works Division helped with last night's operation, using five bulk gritting wagons and four trailers.
