Car slides off road in icy conditions

by isleofman.com 13th January 2010

Police are advising motorists to take extra care, with snow sticking on roads in some parts of the Island, and temperatures around freezing (9pm, Wednesday).

They say everybody should stay on the main roads and drive within their own capabilities, and those of their vehicle, in the snow and ice.

In the past hour, a car heading south slid off the road and into a tree at the Rest and Be Thankful outside Ramsey.

It's understood there were no serious injuries

A number of roads on high ground are still closed from last week and, with snow sticking, police say more could follow.
