Landslide cause unclear

by isleofman.com 13th January 2010

It's still not clear if a burst water main caused the landslide at Happy Valley in Port St Mary.

Several properties and businesses had to be evacuated on Monday night.

Businesses along Bay View Road were allowed to re-open yesterday (Tues) afternoon and all householders were allowed back to their properties.

The situation is being monitored to try and ensure no further damage is caused but Chief Executive of the Isle of Man Water Authority, John Smith, says it could be some time before they can establish exactly what caused the landslide.
