Crimestoppers rise helps combat crime

by isleofman.com 12th January 2010

Isle of Man Crimestoppers has seen an impressive rise in callers which has drawn praise from its head.

Last year saw a 20 per cent increase in the number of calls deemed useful and passed onto Isle of Man police - which has resulted in at least eight detentions or arrests.

The charity's chair, Stuart McCudden, says any information, no matter how small you think it is, could be the vital piece the police need to solve a case.

And he believes the numbers have gone up because people feel their information is valued.
