Chief Minister disappointed over Bowl direction

by isleofman.com 11th January 2010

The Chief Minister has expressed his disappointment over Douglas Corporation's refusal to get involved in refurbishment of the Bowl stadium.

On Friday the council voted against part-funding the re-vamp, in a 50/50 split of the overall ?3.5 million cost, with the government.

Now it's up to the government to redevelop the facility in time for the Commonwealth Youth Games next year.

Tony Brown says for a small extra charge on the rates, the corporation has waved goodbye to what could have been a prime public asset in the capital.
