White Gold for Manx Harriers

by isleofman.com 9th January 2010

Gemma Astin, sister Sarah and Gail Griffiths have struck gold at the Lancashire Cross-Country Championships.

Gemma won the under-20 race but also finished ahead of all the senior women competing at a snowy Witton Park in Blackburn.

Sarah was a clear winner of the under-17 girls race and Gail won her age category.

In all, the large party of athletes from Manx Harriers won more medals than at any previous Lancashire meeting - nine in total.

After the championships, Andy Fox from the club spoke to Manx Radio's Tim Glover about the local success.
