Improvements to Glen Vine junction

by isleofman.com 7th January 2010

With the roads getting back to normal after the recent snow, there is news of more disruption to come, although in this case it is roadworks rather weather which will cause the upheaval.

From next week, the Department of Transport will be undertaking work to improve the junction of Glen Vine Road and Peel Road.

The number of motorists using Glen Vine Road has risen steadily over the years and the narrow junction can cause delays.

The department's efforts will concentrate on widening the road and improving visibility for vehicles attempting to join Peel Road.

The works will mean the Glen Vine Road will be closed from Peel Road to Glen Vine Drive for a period of up to five weeks.

Drivers are asked to use Ballagarey Road for access.

The work is due to begin next Monday, January 11.
