Social Services Update

by isleofman.com 6th January 2010

The DHSS has advised that all its Social Services are now operational.

There are no specific difficulties being reported at present beyond the restricted availability of buses and difficulty of access to certain addresses.

All Social Services Buildings are operating normally.  Non-urgent visits to people will be restricted according to the accessibility of their homes.

Meals on Wheels is operating, although Age Concern Day Centres remain closed.

A spokesperson says, "We are grateful to our staff who have made significant efforts to get to work in adverse conditions to continue to provide vital services to vulnerable people."
