Council to vote again on Bowl scheme

by isleofman.com 6th January 2010

Douglas councillors will be asked to formally bring to an end any involvement in the Bowl refurbishment scheme, at a special meeting on Friday.

Council leader David Christian will ask members to confirm a decision taken at the beginning of December, and have no further talks on the suggested 50-50 funding agreement with the Department of Tourism and Leisure.

If that motion is approved, another from Councillor Carol Malarkey will be considered, which could see discussions opened with a view to transferring ownership of the Bowl to central government.

The meeting will be in the Town Hall at 2.30pm, and will also give members a chance to discuss issues raised at a recent presentation they were given on the scheme.
