Meteor shower peaking about now

The recent clear skies at night have been causing problems with icy roads, but have been good news for astronomers and others who enjoy the night sky.

Another meteor shower is reaching its peak about now.

The Ursids, which appear to come from the direction of Ursa Major or the Plough, aren't normally as spectacular as the Geminids in December.

But chairman of the Manx Astronomical Society Howard Parkin says they should be worth looking out for:
