Roly concert boosts hyperbaric funds

by isleofman.com 4th January 2010

A concert held last year to remember well known poet, satirist and musician Roly Drower raised almost ?1,700 for the hyperbaric chamber.

Mr Drower, a computer programmer who wrote the original software for the facility, died suddenly in May 2008.

Best known for his satirical website 'manxman.com', he came to wider public attention during a protracted series of court cases.

He was also a prolific writer, and the Manx Heritage Foundation has published a posthumous collection of his poems, sketches and observations.

Excerpts from the evening of Manx poetry, comedy and music, which took place at the Centenary Centre in Peel last October, were broadcast on Manx Radio yesterday evening and can be heard at manxradio.com, via the 'Listen Again' service.
