Men in court after drug seizure

Three men have appeared in court in the Isle of Man in connection with the seizure of a quantity of heroin at the weekend.

Police recovered around ?8,500 worth of the class A drug from a property in Empress Drive, Douglas on Sunday.

Alexander Charles Messenger, who is 28 and of no fixed abode, is charged with the importation of heroin into the Island, and with supplying the drug. .

Thirty-five-year-old Mark Nelson from Douglas is accused of possessing heroin with intent to supply, and being concerned in the importation of the drug to the Isle of Man.

Both men were remanded in custody.

A third man, 30-year-old Nicholas Noon from Castletown, faces a charge unconnected with the heroin seizure and was also detained in custody.

A local woman was bailed by police.
