More UK directors head for offshores

by isleofman.com 29th December 2009

The number of financiers moving to the Crown Dependencies has increased, according to a survey.

It says 91 United Kingdom companies have registered addresses in Jersey, Guernsey or the Isle of Man in the past year.

The number of directors of British businesses registered as living in the three jurisdictions has also risen, by almost 500 to more than 6,500 in the past twelve months.

The survey was carried out by Philip Beresford, compiler of the Sunday Times Rich List, and is one of the first attempts to quantify the scale of the exodus of company officials fleeing the UK, to avoid new 50 per cent taxes.
