UK criticism expected at annual ceremony

by isleofman.com 28th December 2009

It's predicted this year's Illiam Dhone commemoration at Hango Hill will see severe condemnation of the UK's conduct towards us in 2009.

The ceremony will hear a speech in English by Bernard Moffatt of the Celtic League, while the Manx one will be given by Mec Vannin's Mark Kermode.

Mr Moffatt says something else of note this year has been the resurgence in Manx nationalism.

The commemoration takes place on Saturday (Jan 2), as will a service at Malew Parish Church, which the Lord Bishop will address.
