Manx2 Look Back on Year of Hospice Support

by isleofman.com 18th December 2009

Manx2.com is flying high after a year of supporting children’s Hospice Rebecca House.

The company, which is based in the Isle of Man, donated 25 gold class return tickets to be used at the charity's discretion throughout 2009.  This month, Chairman Noel Hayes presented the final pair of tickets to lucky winner Mrs Dorothy Finnin.

Manx2.com Chairman Noel Hayes said, "We are delighted to have been able to support Rebecca House over the last year.  The charity was chosen by Manx2.com staff as our nominated cause for 2009.

"It is a great cause which is making a huge difference to the lives of children here in the Isle of Man. Rebecca House provides a vital service to the Island."

Manx2.com launched its support campaign for Rebecca House in January with a competition for people to donate their unwanted Christmas presents to Hospice and in return, have the chance to win a pair of return tickets to any of Manx2’s eight destinations.

The remainder of the tickets were used at the charity’s various events during the year, including a Carlisle collection evening for Valentine’s Day and two black tie dinners with guest speakers Lloyd Grossman and Graham Davies.  Manx2.com also held some adhoc events and entered a sponsored team in the Parish Walk, which raised even more money.

Hospice PR and Marketing Manager Mary Doyle said, "It has been a tremendous year with our community partner, Manx2.com.  The tickets afforded us the opportunity of not only raising much valued funds but also our profile, with the chance to win two return tickets to the fantastic destinations Manx2.com.  We are very grateful to Manx2.com for their support during this year."
