Festive advice on sensible drinking

by isleofman.com 21st December 2009

Alcohol is synonymous with Christmas festivities in many households but Manx people are being reminded of the dangers of over-consumption.

Experts say one or two drinks are not likely to cause any health complications, but are warning that long-term excessive intake can lead to liver and kidney problems, not to mention the inevitable hangovers.

On Talking Heads today, Thea Ozenturk from the Alcohol Advisory Service told Stu Peters the effects of drinking weren't limited to implications for health:

People with concerns for themselves or members of their family can contact the Alcohol Advisory Service confidentially, on 627656 or 426400.

Alternatively you can log on to the website, at alcoholadvisoryservice.co.uk
