A Douglas man has today been jailed for a total of 16 months for sexually grooming a child under the age of 16.
Fifty-nine-year-old Anthony Edward Duggan, a cleaning supervisor, committed one offence, against a 15-year-old boy in July this year.
Evidence showed he targeted the teenager, described as 'vulnerable', supplying him with cigarettes and alcohol with the intention of engaging in sexual activity with him, despite knowing his age.
Duggan was placed on the Sex Offenders Register for five months and a prevention order was granted, with a number of restrictions, designed to reduce the risk of him reoffending.
